Throughout the year, students have several performance opportunities:

  • The Nutcracker (by audition only)

  • Conservatory In Concert (open to all enrolled students)

  • Summer Showings (open to all students enrolled in the full 4-week program)

  • PDT Company Concerts (by invitation only)

PDT's Nutcracker

The Nutcracker auditions will be held on  Saturday, October 12, 2019. Open to boys 8 years of age and older and girls 9 years of age and older. This is an incredible opportunity for the PDT Conservatory students and other young dancers in the community to dance alongside professional PDT Company members at the historic San Gabriel Mission Playhouse. Student roles are organized and determined by height and ability. Students are required to attend every rehearsal, without exception, and parents are required to volunteer for several shows. More details about the show and volunteering are available at the audition.

Conservatory In Concert

Conservatory In Concert enables students to share all they have learned in class throughout the year with an elegant performance on the stage at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse. This is an excellent opportunity for parents, friends and family to witness the growth and development of all of our dancers at PDT. There are no costume fees. Each participating dancer purchases eight tickets to the performance held in May on a Saturday afternoon.

Dancers enrolled in the Pre-Professional Division of the Conservatory are expected to participate as learning choreography and performing are part of a full dance education.

Summer Showings

PDT’s Summer Showings gives dancers an opportunity to perform a variety of styles for their family and friends. It is a casual late afternoon performance held on the last Friday of the intensive in the Studio Theater. Tickets are priced low but limited in quantity due to space.
